James Allen is an energy analyst and editor with more than 15 years' experience covering global energy markets from both London and New York.

He has worked across professional energy media and investment research, including as New York bureau chief for Montel and later as editor at Southbank Investment Research, where he analysed global energy trends for private investors. His work focuses on how policy, capital flows, technology and geopolitics interact across the energy system — often identifying inflexion points before they become consensus.

James founded Global Energy Dynamics to provide clear, independent intelligence for professionals and investors navigating the energy transition, with an emphasis on understanding what matters, what doesn't, and why.
